Something peculiar to this hurricane, that I never noticed before.

A few days back, I noticed something I hadn't seen before. It was a very light sun-shower. I could see light dimples on the surface of the swimming pool and looked up to see the tiniest droplets coming down. The cloud formation above was just a wisp. Not even a rain cloud. I shrugged and went on with what I was doing. A few minutes later I noticed the droplets continued, and I looked up to see if there were any rain clouds up above. I was surprised to see that there weren't any clouds at all. Some on the peripheral, but none above the neighborhood.

Since then, as this hurricane approaches, this sporadic light weeping from the sky continues, sometimes turning into a full on sun shower, and sometimes actual rain. It has happened every day over the last three days, becoming more frequent each day. I am assuming it's because there is so much moisture in the air that some form of condensation is occurring?

Maybe the wind brought in the rain, and you were on the edge of the storm? Or it could have been a temperature inversion, and what you saw wasn't rain, maybe it was dew falling out? Other than that I couldn't guess.

But the clouds must have been moving overhead because the original misty cloud was not there.

I'm in West Central Florida (Tampa Bay area) and have noticed exact same here as well. Sun shining, all of a sudden, very light sprinkles. Just walked outside with dog, thinking I'd better get him out while sun shining, my car totally soaked. Sun shining all morning long. I hadn't noticed any rain since being out earlier this morning. #DORIAN is one strange hurricane, and I've lived through 34 years worth of Hurricane Seasons now.

I live in northeastern side of Central Florida.

I don't want to sound premature, but we may have been hit with the first band just now. Strong wind blew in, followed by a rain.

No clouds, light rain in the back, no rain in the front yard at all. Sometimes there are wispy clouds, sometimes none directly overhead but some on the periphery. I thought it was just a normal FL thing because i've been seeing it since I was just a kid?

I spent years out on the soccer fields and never noticed that faint style of shower. I know what a sunshower is. This is lighter. Maybe it usually dries up in a normal sizzling hot summer before it hits the ground?
