Natural life span: 20+ years

Factory farm life span: 0–20 weeks or 12–14 months

Veal calves, the inevitable byproduct of the dairy industry, are slaughtered at a few months old and as young as a few hours old - and are sometimes even cut out of their mothers' stomachs. Sheep:

Factory farm life span: 6 months
