After remaining stationary for 12 hours, Dorian has began to move at 1 mph NW. Sustained winds have strengthened back to 120 mph. Current median projection avoids landfall in US.

along the Florida east coast, users are reminded not to forecast on
the exact forecast track. A relatively small deviation to the
left of this track could bring the core of the hurricane near or
over the coastline.

(1,384 posts)Is something many places can't handle, especially the Low Country of South Carolina. Charleston area leads the country in the building of new homes, on floodplains...one might have thought that after Matthew, some light bulb would have lit.... but NO!
