20 minutes into the new season of 'The View' and Meghan McCain is already in a snit

A snit over guns. And it's a full blown self pitying snit, too. Even her buddy, Abby Huntsman, is on the other side of the issue.

I have to admit I was REALLY disappointed to see Meghan walk out on that stage, this morning.

Today she had to make a point of referring to her hiatus activities (hunting and fishing in Wyoming) as the kind of 'red neck' stuff people would expect of her.

So, right from the get-go she was setting herself up for one of her classic pity party behaviors.

The only hunters that I actually somewhat respect are subsistence hunters and I'm sure Meghan isn't just subsisting.

I also don't understand people who just shoot, for fun. I've had to fire a gun just twice, in my life. Both times were required by my military service. I found having that kind of destructive power, in my hands, to be absolutely terrifying. I couldn't wait to get out of, and far away from, that building. The tear gassing exercise we had to go though, in basic training, was less stressful to endure.

3. I rarely see any of this except videos occasionally posted here and elsewhere, but do they always

play weeks of repeat episodes in the summertime? I clicked on one day last week and was startled to see an old episode that seemed out of place for a "topical" talk show...? How long do they do that?

Other members of the panel fact-check her, real time, which really sets her self-pity party into high gear.

I'm really not sure why she re-signed her contract.

I generally enjoy the rest of the panel's contributions. They are funny and pretty sharp. Meghan is way out of her depth.
