A self-described “conservative” man, who is “obsessed with Fox News and the Republican party” was arrested in Florida after trying to strangle his girlfriend. The police report states “he was very conservative and (his girlfriend) was a liberal,” and adds, ”he felt that he was going to have to kill her,” and noted it was his third attempt.

3rd Attempt? She should "stood her ground" the first fucking time around

to the point that she's unable to leave.

I stayed a year and a half. That was after being strangled and a knife being held at my throat. I finally got the courage to leave when he started on my baby at 4 months old.

I thought I had no other way out and my self esteem was through the floor. It was a pretty awful situation.

5. Couples therapy probably not going to do the trick

When a spouse attempts to kill you ONCE, you should bail. When your boyfriend tries to kill you the third time, all I can think is that he isn't the only one needing help. Not blaming the victim, just saying that she needs to get help understanding that it isn't OK for a boyfriend to attempt to kill you.
