Can the world's advanced democracies please stop electing clowns and grifters now? Things are getting serious.

BY CHARLES P. PIERCE

You don't often get to see a guy lose his working legislative majority on live TV. I mean, literally. We see it happen figuratively all the time over here. But on Tuesday, in the British parliament, you could actually watch a guy stand up, join the leadership of the opposition, literally cross the aisle, and evaporate Boris Johnson's political advantage right in front of Ferrethead J. Cromwell's eyes.

Can the world's advanced democracies please stop electing clowns and grifters now? Things are getting serious.

On the other hand, Senate Republicans? See? You can do things like this. Mitch McConnell can’t turn you into a ficus if you try.

Among Tories. That is the reason McConnel & other Republicans are afraid to openly cross Trump. They saw what happened to Flake & Corker. Watch what happens after Trump loses in 2020. They will abandon him asap.
