Conservatives who voted against UK government will be expelled from party

LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s chief whip, or parliamentary enforcer, is speaking to Conservative lawmakers who voted in favor of a move to try to stop a no-deal Brexit and they will be expelled from the party, a spokesman said.

“The chief whip is speaking to those Tory (Conservative) MPs (members of parliament) who did not vote with the government this evening. They will have the Tory whip removed,” the spokesman from Johnson’s office said on Tuesday.

Most won't. Most of them are old school tories, just like the old school republicans in the US. OnDoutside Sep 2019 #3

the liberal name is an obsolete misnomer, completely misleading, as often happens with party labels over time of course.

Today's Republicans love to claim Lincoln as theirs, whereas he'd never have belonged to the Republican Party even 20 years after his death, when its conservative, business-oriented wing had grown to become dominant.

Liberals behave like liberals, now and 250 years ago, conservatives like conservatives, so party behavior is how to identify their true orientations.

And as Madaboutharry says, fascistic archconservatives have that fascist stink.

Don’t vote the way Mr. Johnson wants and get expelled from the party. No doubt Trump will think this is a great idea.

Thinks that way. So does Moscow Mitch. He has basically turned the Senate over to Trump.

He thought it was smart to refer to himself as,” The Grim Reaper!” That is backfiring on him now.
