FLIPPABLE: Eliz Markowitz for TX-HD28 (Nov. 5th)

I'm a native Texan, raised in Sugar Land by a teacher and an oil worker. Over the course of my career, I've seen firsthand how our healthcare and school systems impact everyday Texans, and I've fought hard to make our healthcare system more efficient and our school system more fair. I've advocated across the state to end our reliance on high-stakes STAAR testing, which wastes millions in taxpayer dollars and countless hours of instructional time.

I currently work as an instructor, corporate trainer, and author with the Princeton Review, where I train other teachers across the nation and still get to do what I love most -- spending time with students. I earned my bachelor's in Computer Science from Trinity University, two master's degrees in Business and Healthcare from UT San Antonio, and my doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.

I'm running to represent House District 28 because we deserve a state that provides healthcare to all Texans, regardless of income level or ethnicity. We deserve a public education system that provides high-quality education to all Texans, regardless of race or zip code. We deserve a society where we can send our children to school without fear. And we deserve a state that fights for its citizens in times of crisis, rather than withholding emergency funding for arbitrary reasons. Texans deserve better and, together, we will achieve these goals!
