(22,252 posts)My personal favorite is one he wrote about the court clerk in Kentucky who wouldn't issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. "I am the clerk of constant sorrows"
One of his recent ones was based on "96 Tears" and the phrase "you're gonna cry 96 tears" was changed to "you're gonna cry Nazi Bitch tears" The song was about Stephen Miller I believe.

At no point was there ever a chance that Dorian predicted to CROSS the State of Florida. As a West Central Florida resident, I've been watching the track since last week. What an ass. This guy seriously needs to be put in straight jacket and heavily medicated beyond his current non-legal prescription of Adderal

(37,160 posts)Which is more BS, but if it were true it'd mean he wasn't paying any attention, because by the time he said that it was past the point where any spaghetti plots gave a possible AL-grazing track. And the all the 5-day projections by then were showing an east-coast track

(12,712 posts)then he is just calling attention to it, which seems to be some convoluted, distorted strategy with him.
In most cases, protesting too loudly is a giveaway.
I still get the feeling that it is all about the Daily Trump, no matter how ridiculous and crazy the actuality. I don't ever recall an acting President getting this much attention, day in and day out, before, other than when there was a scandal or something with import like Nixon's Watergate and the Clinton/Monica thing.
In that case, it works, huh? Trump, Trump, Trump pounding the gestalt like a big jackboot, injecting itself into the mainstream like a scorpion sting.

(11,631 posts)This is sort of key to the whole teflon-Don mess I think. I mean its counter-intuitive to say that he benefits from making an ass of himself perpetually on twitter, but the larger effect seems to be that when the more meaningful scandals do hit, they get washed away in the daily wave of "Well here's the stupid shit Trump said or did today..."
Newest Reality
(12,712 posts)After all, he does know reality TV well, (probably better than almost anyone ) and we are all participants in his show, perhaps unwittingly in the cultural context. It is like some sort of loop in the Twilight Zone where everything is revolving in the bowl, but just won't flush down.
Ah, so far, none of the taunts, demands, reactions, etc., seem to have changed anything, prevented anything, solved anything, etc., etc. etc. So Teflon-Don seems to fit.

(101,311 posts)The Dead Cat Theory being "when you're in trouble, you throw a dead cat onto the table, which will shock and distract everyone, even if it makes you look weird". Trump delivers dead cats regularly, so that we aren't even shocked any more. He worked out that the deplorables like both the dead cats, and the bigotry and movement of money to the ultra-rich that they cover.

(101,311 posts)and he said that on the Sunday. After the expected course had turned north, ie when any danger had completely moved away from Alabama. Which was why the National Weather Service tweeted 20 minutes later to correct the misinformation Trump had created and spread. On that Sunday, he pretended the risk to Alabama was increasing, when it had, in reality, disappeared.

(11,563 posts)I also have a hunch the reason he canceled his trip to Poland was because he is in such poor health, he couldnt take the jet lag. Remember how awful he looked at the G7? Trump is unfit to govern for multiple reasons and so are his Republican enablers.

(11,563 posts)No doubt, Trump has age-related health issues from a lifetime of poor eating habits and other risky behaviors. Additionally, he has good reason to fear actually being held accountable in court for his many crimes, both federal and state. The walls are closing in and he knows it. He could very well be at the drooling stage in a very short period of time. Unfortunately, as we know, his Republican enablers will do absolutely nothing. They have placed their bet and they are determined to let it ride to the bitter end, no matter the cost to the rest of Americans.
