That doctored hurricane forecast map really pissed me off

People's lives and livelihoods depend on timely accurate hurricane forecasts.

To show an outdated map that was doctored to present a totally inaccurate forecast was just fucking wrong.

This wasn't a "mistake" it was a deliberate act that not only confuses residents on the East and Gulf Coasts, it undermines peoples faith in NHC forecasts.

I'm not finding the #SharpieGate photos all that amusing as a consequence, but I don't fault anyone for coping with him like that.

I cannot excuse anyone, especially the president of the damn country, propagating false information and then doubling and tripling down on it. What he did was unbelievably careless, reckless, and dangerous. And criminal.

I hope I'd feel this way even if I wasn't someone who prepared for Dorian, waited for days on end in a state of anticipation, and was extremely fortunate the storm turned north when it did. You don't mislead people.

I shared an altered path projection here a few days ago, but there isn't a reasonable person alive who would take it as serious weather forecasting. And I'm also not the president communicating to the nation.
