"SNIP.....

“The Trump administration is moving forward with a proposal to revoke part of California’s authority to set its own automobile gas mileage standards, in another confrontation with a state that has repeatedly challenged environmental rollbacks,” the AP reports.

“The Environmental Protection Agency was preparing paperwork for the White House that would set a single national standard for fuel economy.”

Actually, raising the standards won't do that much. The automakers are not going to reverse all the engineering they've done over the past decades to increase efficiency.

I suppose the oil companies would love it, but I don't think that they can mandate cars the get lower gas mileage. Not to mention, the rest of the world is laughing at us. They're not going to change their cars to be less efficient.

Not to mention numerous studies raise questions as to whether it's use has had any positive impact on our environment. Renewable doesn't necessarily equate to positive.

and hate-es them some Big Gubmint, you'd think they wouldn't give a dry fuck what california did with it's own standards for cars...

I suppose the upside is that from now on, every argument they could possibly think to make about what they claim to believe on any debate stage can be countered with 4 words:

Ummmmm....what about Trump?
