MAGATs in AL would holler - "It's a'fixin' to hit!!!!" - and cancel their weekend plans on the Gulf Coast, spend money on hurricane supplies, board up their houses or skeedaddle to a motel in TN.
MAGATs in SC and NC would holler " "It's not a'fixin' to hit!!!!111" - and drive down to The Battery in Charleston or Myrtle Beach or Hatteras.
Stupid people.

(25,454 posts)Most people get their weather from TWC or their local news. I doubt that many people made plans based on Trump's claim. Not even his biggest fans.
Besides, the media coverage has been extensive and even Fox News called him out on the nonsense.

(11,683 posts)Over the years it is apparent to me Conservatives/Rs create their own belief system and artificial reality no matter the facts. For two reasons I believe: one is because that is how they function--don't deal with facts well and gut feelings prevail; two the elites who wish to get their way manipulate the R's via AM radio, FOX and Rush on what to think and then build a schizophrenic house of cards to prop it up. Trump is a Möbius strip distributing then believing unsupportable beliefs his gut sends him.
