2. It is not right for him to appropriate these expenditures but many do seem very pricey.

Not that that justifies drumph's crude money grab in any way.

These are the expenses we are lumbered with routinely.

You have to wonder about how these lucrative deals are dished out.

Obviously we're not getting any real details on these but an AWFUL lot of them sound ... REALLY ... overpriced.

But that's a separate matter. Clearly a SHIT TON of projects meant to improve the lives of our military personnel, and/or improve military readiness ... are being shunted to the wayside to pay for Trumps pet project.

Fact is, he's selling out the military because he's convinced 'building the wall' is the key to his re-election, no question about it.

5. I'm a director at a defense contractor.

Keep in mind there are often specifications in military projects that don't equate to the average person's purchasing experience.

For example, if you see "batteries" on a list of required items you may think in terms of anything from a $20 pack of AA batteries to a $200 car battery. So when you see a price tag of $2,000 next to a battery you might reasonably think WTF?!

But my company does use batteries in this price range because of what we have to power, the environmental conditions we have to power them in, and the mission critical need to ensure there is absolutely zero down time of what we are powering.

We have to justify every last penny going out and coming in on our contracts. And I do mean down to the literal penny. The audit controls are stringent to say the least! I'm not saying waste doesn't happen, but it's not the epidemic a lot of people seem to assume. If there is a steep price tag on something that doesn't make sense on the surface, I can just about guarantee you there are mil specs involved that most of us would have no clue about.
