For some people, it took a hurricane map to do what Robert S. Mueller IIIs 448-page report could not: Bring home how seriously unfit and perhaps unwell is the president.
The Mueller report was long, dense and complicated for those who had not followed the twists and turns in the saga of President Trumps willing receipt of Russian help in the 2016 election and his furious efforts to impede the investigation into his conduct. By contrast, the hurricane map with the lame Sharpie addition is visual, simple and utterly mockable.
The Mueller report has been spun, distorted and misrepresented by the White House, attorney general, Republican members of Congress and the right-wing echo chamber; the map is unspinnable, despite the cringe-inducing statement from a Coast Guard rear admiral pressed into offering vague cover for an obsessive president ...
Now Trump is the source of ridicule, the kryptonite of all narcissists. Its not simply that he is wrong, but pathetically laughable. He can see the reaction; and his followers can see that the little man behind the curtain no longer can dazzle us with illusions. So Trump struggles, entwining himself further in the web of ridiculous lies and needy tweets. He cannot let go, and he thereby feeds the media, which in turn infuriate him ...

(24,372 posts)Because they know the conservative political ideology is a minority public opinion. They simply can not win in a fair fight, and they absolutely can not win a national election without cheating and/or rigging.
So they keep him in place to pack the courts. THAT is the main reason , the way I see it. If Trumpy wasn't a rubber stamp for every judge the Heritage Foundation and the rest of them put up, he would have been gone inside 18 months.
If Trumpy had begun to show his true colors - that he was a lifelong, pro-choice, New York Democrat (albeit a giant horses ass of one, but I digress) , the Repubs would have shown him the door long ago.
But he is doing exactly what the Powers That Be want; Stacking the courts with young, evangelical asshole judges who will be there for decades and legislate from the bench and reducing or removing regulations on industry.
He is exactly what the asshole Grover Norquist said they wanted - someone that can hold a pen and sign off on bills.

A HERETIC I AM
(24,372 posts)Yes...and tax cuts!
"Let's get him to cut taxes"
"ummmm...that didn't do anything the last time we did that but make the rich richer and balloon the deficit."
"And your point is?"
"The deficit and the national debt be damned, we are gonna make this trickle down bullshit work if it kills us....er....the rest of humanity!"
"And then when it all goes south and the economy tanks, we just blame it on the Democrats?"
"By Jove, I think you've got it!"
There's a damned good reason why things are the way they are and Trump even got CLOSE to the White House;
Because this isn't a democracy and the opinion of the people doesn't fucking matter.

There...is...no...bottom, for Trump.
