stuff.
On top of the having the military gas up to the tune of 11 mil. in Scotland, he is withholding the aid that has been allocated to Ukraine to help them hold off Russia. The aid will be released in return for dirt against the Bidens to help him win against Biden.
The damned grifter taking the country for a ride, he's bribing a country to help him win the 2020 election. He needs to be hauled up to account for himself.

(21,753 posts)This will be another case of not being able to trace this directly to Trump, to a legal certainty.
The Congress can subpoena, but the Executive will have to act to enforce it. Same with Judicial decisions. I am aware that the Capitol Police can be used, but can you imagine them rolling up to a military base to take their General in?
Another "Balance of Power" stalemate.

(9,981 posts)He should be asked about it the next time he is interviewed for his book tour. I am angry at the extra unnecessary spending when Congress just keeps giving more and more money to the military, but I find it very disturbing that the military was doing this to support Trumps personal finances. Thats a level of corruption I did not expect to see, and it makes me wonder just what the military will do to protect and support Trumplike sending a nuclear bomb to Iran. It feels as though there are no controls anymoreits all whatever Trump wants, including allowing him to use funds for the wall specifically not allocated by Congress for that purpose. Trump has effectively taken away Congress power of the purse with nary a peep from any Republican.
That is all

(42,770 posts)Can say, we will investigate that...even for us, it seems so pointless. We have lost our moral authority, imho, since we did not declare on April 4th, that Dipshit's actions were impeachable. Where the hell is the emoluments investigation anyway?
Future generations are going to ask us what we did to stop this, what in heavens name will we say?

Not only that Putin wants to share his Nuclear Cruise missile with Trump. Maybe extreme measures will get Trump out of hock to Putin and stave off 2020. Kill off excess population and you can still live like kings. A world worthy of Boris, Vlad and Donald just around the corner. Dystopia anyone?

(790 posts)this makes zero sense politically or business-wise for Ukraine. Surely it'd be far more expensive to wage an infowar against some foreign political campaign (a former US vice president running for president) than the aid that is being dangled and simultaneously being threatened to be withdrawn. Unless there are matching funds from Russia to do the dirty deed, or some other kind of backing, this shyte has no rational calculus. I can't bring myself to believe that Ukraine would go along with this, or even that the chief ass-wipe in the White House thinks it would, even taking into account all the mental instability he parades around like a baboon's hind quarters. It feels like he and whoever his cabal is want to pull the remaining truth-tellers into a narrative so outrageous and face-value ridiculous that stories about this crap will look like accounts of pizza-gate.

(5,128 posts)Jet fuel is $1.70/gal.
C17's have a fuel capacity of 28,000 gallons.
Each fill up is $47,000.
For $11 Million to be spent, there would need to be 230 trips.
No freaking way.
I'm not saying $11 Million isn't long gone, but there were nowhere near that many trips.
How much did we pay to lodge the military at his Dump at Doonbeg?
They should be court martialed and he should be flayed.
drray23
(7,627 posts)From what Rachel was reporting, this is a routine supply route between the US and the middle-east. If they started diverting those C17 flights to systematically use that airport, it may not be that surprising.

(54,370 posts)The military is coming? Nothing too good for our men and women in uniform! Put them all in the Presidential suite!! What? There is only one presidential suite? Well, EVERY ONE of our service people deserves the presidential suite! For them, EVERY room is the Presidential suite. After all, the money IS going into the president's pocket. It costs £3000 a night? Cool, our taxpayers would never refuse only the best for our service people, right? Thirty people at £3000 a night? There's $110,00 per night right there.

Meanwhile the irony is not list that Trump is not only dismantling all the Obama era penalties against Russia after the invasion of Ukraine and annexation of Crimea, but then bribe the Ukrainians and help him steal an election (again).
