(7,430 posts)They need to control the news cycles and open up hearing after hearing.
IMO, their Articles of Impeachment should include well over 50 allegations. And that would be a partial list. Trumpy is absolutely lawless. He's been committing felonies since before inauguration, and it's been a steady stream of crimes for which he MUST be held accountable. Do NOT stop with 3 or 4 articles. Go full bore. Show the US public that you are aware of everything and are charging Trumpy with everything. If YOU show that you are aware, then the public will become aware.

(11,254 posts)rather that a scattershot approach of running hither and thither after every little detail that crops up (and there's like 10 that crop up every day). We're attempting to engage the interest and concern of the general public (not known for a real attention span). So .. concentrate your efforts on the .. Clear, Easy to understand, and most Egregious, Toxic and Venal. Not sure if it makes sense to waste our time, or investigative powers, on all the small stuff.
(example: very, very few give a rats ass about Bill Barr spending 30 thou at a Trump hotel. That's chump change. {and apparently had clearance} And even the coal miner in KY recognizes it as nit-picky. How much money have the Russian mafia laundered through the same facility? Now there's a real story .. if you can run it down.)

(6,908 posts)Prestwick Airport strikes me as a scheme where some of the $11 million in military jet fuel purchases could end up in Trumps pocket.
I think they should look for some business connection between the airport and the resort.

Remember the lesson of your (our) youth.
It is better to have TRIED and lost than not to try at all!
If Trump wins in 2020 and we haven't hit him with everything including the kitchen sink.
Who will take the blame for the next four years and beyond?

This is their moment. I believe people are sometimes called to a unique and monumental role in history. To step up. People who otherwise may have lived lives of ignominy, or at least some level of mediocrity or anonymity. But history and mere fate (timing? serendipity?) calls upon them and they become fundamental change agents. Churchill. LBJ. Rosa Parks. Sojourner Truth. Eugene McCarthy. Chief Joseph. Elvis. This is it for House Dems!

(17,981 posts)They were all in New Hampshire. Each one gave a speech. It was a chance to hear each one. Amy really impressed me, so did the others.
It was my birthday, I was really depressed. After listening to each of the inspiring speeches I came away smiling, was taken to lunch, given a cake and ended the day thinking that maybe we can get out of this dark hole.
The staff say Trump is a raging maniac when he gets out of sight, growing worse each day. Scary.

(18,613 posts)But the Dems seem to be so timid and do everything slowly and strictly by the book so that Trump can do cartwheels around them.
While he runs madly around decimating law after law the Dems will never catch up unless they break out of their self imposed straight jacket and take some bold chances.

(28,117 posts)Way enough. It's a matter of convincing the public. And how better to do that than with daily *broadcasted hearings* so that even Faux has to cover it. This is essential.
What's the point of the Constitution if it's principles are not upheld?
stopdiggin
(11,254 posts)Now you have "Way enough" evidence to convict. Then where's the problem?
( I have no problem at all with hearings and convincing the public .. matter of fact I think that's what we should do .. but the "jury" here is the Senate, and they are NOT going to convict .. just to stay on point)
Duppers
(28,117 posts)...of Speaker Pelosi's and of others who would hesitate beginning impeachment hearings.
And the Senate is not going to convict why? Because of the voters' opinions in their districts.
Because these voters have not heard the FACTS.
Take the example of when REPUBLICAN Justin Amash held townhall meetings to explain his position to his constituents who hadn't heard the facts and didn't know what he was talking about.
Why? RW media never exposes the truth. Those meetings convinced enough of his constituents.
Chris Hayes even play a tape of a woman at a townhall saying she had not heard those facts before!!
The problem in this country IS the media and that too many folks listen only to Faux News and other right-wing media.
Duppers
(28,117 posts)Publicly broadcasted and media covered hearings is to get the info to the public who've not yet heard the facts.
The members of the Senate are elected by their constituents, are they not?
Case closed.
