The House Judiciary Committee just announced that theyre planning to reveal an impeachment roadmap and a key change to the way they operate with the intent of holding Watergate-style hearings.
All impeachment inquiries originate in the Judiciary Committee, and now they are planning a formal resolution to lay out procedures for this falls impeachment inquiry, which Politico first reported late last night.
As a result, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) will be given additional powers to rapidly convene hearings, on a vote which a reliable source on the Hill close to the process just told the Washington Press, will take likely place this week, likely on Tuesday or Thursday of this week because, on Wednesday, Congress will primarily be dedicated to commemorating the September 11th attacks.

Show up to testify please
No
Welcome to federal prison until you do.

(4,379 posts)Trump has made it impossible for the democrats not to impeach. He is committing crimes every fucking day. This is going to turn into a war. Justice will win in the end.

(1,103 posts)how informative the longer questioning was of Democratic candidates during the town halls on CNN? That was very effective. We all got a much better picture of each candidate than in the "debates." The same benefit could be had in the House hearings. Great idea.

(26,290 posts)hand of the Repugnants.
First those in the House to get them on record defending Trump and then the Senate to force them to go on the record and vote not to convict.
Then even if the Repugnants try a sham vote of having only their vulnerable members vote to convict it will still hopefully expose their parties blatant corruption more to the independent voters that might have been considering voting for a Repugnant until then.
Of course it could backfire and go the other way but at this point the Democrats need to take the risk to save the country.
