This is relevant to 2020 and Trump, so hear me out...re: Dave Dave Chappelle's new show/netflix

He said something...and I can't remember if it was in the main show or the prologue...
But he said Trump had a better chance than people think.
And He said Trump is not the Hokey Pokey because that's not what it's about.
It's about all the people that voted for him in the first place, that's the real issue.

And he has a point. My husband is conservative and I'm not. He wanted Trump, but he even says, "he runs is damned mouth too much."
My husband asked me if I was gonna be pissed if Trump won.
I said not pissed. I'm freaking worried about all the damage he's doing. I don't think it will be easy to come back from
all this racist and incompetent bull shit. We used to argue about this stuff, but we didn't like the strife.
We've learned to say our piece and just agree to disagree. I think he thought Trump would at least get decent help, but of course
we know how that's turned out. I digress.

My point is. I think I already thought that Trump really could pull this off again. I'm not saying I want him to, but
the poor, disenfranchised whites that don't get it...they are the ones we have to worry about.
Just my two cents. Dave had a point, and I think he articulated something I was thinking but hadn't put my finger on.

Also, I really think we need to be civil and respect people and ask them what is important to them. We're not going to change people
by telling them they are stupid and wrong. They need to know we care about them.

Trump can barely pull his socks off without assistance, but he is a proven Pied Piper of hate-filled racists and Evangelicals (not that they are mutually exclusive).

Can Putin again seat Trump in the White House by again undermining our elections with an assist from Republicans? Absolutely.

Despite his gross incompetence and corruption I think Trump has a very good chance of being reelected. A year ago, I was certain he would be a 1 termer.

Something feels 'off' they way it felt in late 2016. We are living in a new culture war where all that is percieved as overly PC is being tied to the 'left'. Trump is their ultimate antidote to this. You see it and hear it everywhere. Don't underestimate it.

Liberalism today is generally perceived through a cultural and regional lens and Trump plays to it perfectly.

They can bitch about that all they want. In other words,

They can continue to be complete fuckin idiot worthless morons, and me voting for their best interests doesn't require them to get smarter. They can stay stupid, and I'll still care about them at a more 'meta' level than they can comprehend.

I question not just the judgement but the intelligence of all those who voted for Trump. And if we don't work hard to get out the vote, he'll win again.
