Watching "The Weekly" episode "The Blueprint" on FX on cable.

This is coverage of the 2007 internal conflict in Estonia. Some russian citizens of Estonia, along with a mob of russians who crossed the border into Estonia, rioted over the removal of a WW2 memorial statue. The statue was removed, and russian tv said the statue was "desecrated" and cut up. In truth, it was moved to a military cemetery.

Then russia started hacking into websites of media, government, banks, etc. It was difficult to even get correct information to the public because of hacking. (DDOS attacks?) The hacking stopped by summer 2007, and Estonia law enforcement requested help from russian law enforcement to find and charge the hackers. Their requests were met with indifference, so there were no repercussions. These activities, including creating cultural divides, are part of the blueprint for doctoring elections, causing internal strife, and undoing democracies.

Estonia is about 25% ethnic russian. Estonians still resent the Soviet occupation from last century. There is a memorial in Talinn of about 75,000 estonians who were sent to siberia, killed, or vanished. It is said that every family in Estonia lost one or more members to the brutality of the soviet occupation.

The next showing of this 30 minute program is Thursday, 12:00 am EDT on FXXHD, and Saturday 12:00 am on FXHD.
