fuel that helicopter was burning through while Trump lied to reporters. Trump always needs lots of props to remind the audience that he is a VIP. The helicopter might have been quietly parked, but instead a noisy prop wash makes it more dramatic and Trump's impressionable TV viewers love a good show. Plus it's hard to hear reporter's questions and know when Trump's lying.

That whine of the copter's engines sorta (is deliberately intended to?) masks the stammering and just 'making shit up as he does' that comes when you don't have words or more than a nano-second to focus and think through a concept.
