Will Democrats Stand Up To The Challenge Trump Creates To Our Nation?
There is a danger that many believe our system is immune to an autocrat. I invite you to examine with me how we got into this mess and why "just getting rid of Trump" is not enough to prevent an even worse one down the line.
We are in this situation because:
1. DEMOCRATS in Congress FAILED to call out the lies and waited with baited breath for Mueller. to do THEIR JOB. Yes, I realize many Democrats spoke up. But is has to be done round the clock, with campaign rallies. Not for a candidate but to WAGE THE WAR OF IDEAS. Perhaps a "Designated Hitter" could have been chosen to wage COUNTER ATTACKS on Trump. The individual would need to be a seasoned Democrat in Congress or retired WITH NO AMBITION TO BE PRESIDENT.
2. DEMOCRATS have a history BEFORE Trump of NOT standing up to the lies of Birtherism and DEATH PANELS. Obama wanted to "turn the page" after the 2008 crash. YET YOU WONDER WHY TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS is still a viable theory in the public domain? Americans respond to TESTOSTERONE. This is needed to have IMAGE CREDIBILITY with the low info voter that constitutes the majority of Republicans.
3. DEMOCRATS have never understood it is NOT simply about winning elections. It is about a WINNING MESSAGE and a WAR OF IDEAS! When Democrats have to play "Democrat" inside the corporate sandbox of their corp donors the WAR OF IDEAS will not be waged. FDR said "I welcome their hatred" in reference to organized money. Many Democrats are "tamed" by it.
4. DEMOCRATS have stood by while the news media have been falsely labeled as "liberal". Why I guess if you support SCIENCE not "creation science" then the news media is liberal. No it leans to FACTS. Yet FOX NEWS paved the way for Trump with their WAR ON TRUTH and it went unanswered. So why not call for a body count of all those killed by "Obama's DEATH PANELS"? If you don't CONFRONT THE LIE IT GROWS INTO A TRUMP PRESIDENCY! My point is this "drinking the kool aide" started BEFORE Trump. But there were NO CONSEQUENCES for the lies! Yet you wonder why we got Trump?
5. DEMOCRATS have wallowed in fear of using HOT RHETORIC? For God's sake why not? Our nation is under attack by Putin. He is striking at the fabric of our democracy - OUR ELECTIONS. Yet all I hear is a pathetic MEOW. Time to STAND UP FOR AMERICA! What will happen in 2020 if Putin attacks even more with or without Trump's active cooperation? Could Fox News and Trump call out the goons to the streets when Trump loses? Civil War?
6. BUT WHAT ABOUT REPUBLICANS? Yes in a nice world where corporations worried about climate change, gave pensions to those who worked their lives making THEM money you would EXPECT Republicans to act in a moral manner. MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT DRINKING KOOL AIDE. We are talking about REPUBLICANS! But even they have a conscience buried inside. BUT WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES? Talk Republican speak- WHAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE ON THE LEDGER SHEET?
THERE ARE NO BAD CONSEQUENCES FOR REPUBLICANS NOT RISING UP AGAINST TRUMP. DEMOCRATS HAVE MADE SURE OF THAT.
ASK YOURSELF THIS?
If Trump is removed will Democrats FOLLOW UP and WAGE A WAR OF IDEAS against the Philosophy of Kool aide? Will Democrats go after Republicans who ENABLED Putin's tampering with our Democracy?
HELL NO! Do NOT believe our system is immune to autocrats.
We got LUCKY this time with Trump.
WHAT IF:
1. This happened in the context of a war?
2. A new Trump did not make enemies of the Intel Community? The way Trump is going now they hate him.
3. Trump lies about even trivia and he has NO SELF DISCIPLINE. WILL OUR NATION BE AS LUCKY THE NEXT TIME? What if the NEXT Trump restricts his lies to crucial areas, is more refined and has self discipline but for evil purposes.
Republicans are living in a bubble. I have a political website. As an individual I simply CANNOT keep up posting as new lies keep coming. Democrats MUST designate a prominent speaker to ATTACK TRUMP DAY AND NIGHT. This individual must use RED MEAT RHETORIC and do so not once but DAY AND NIGHT. This individual MUST NOT RUN FOR PRESIDENT to have a PURE IMAGE. This seasoned Democrat MUST BE FUNDED WITH ADS.
Again it is NOT simply to elect candidates but to WAGE A WAR OF IDEAS. Nancy Pelosi is afraid to go full blast on impeachment. She does not realize the public WILL change AFTER the evidence gets THROUGH THE FOX NEWS BUBBLE.
We lost in 2008 because we ONLY won an "election". We were to timid in WINNING THE WAR OF IDEAS. FDR won the war of ideas for his generation but today's Democrats are to timid. We need to WAGE A WAR OF IDEAS TO RETURN TO A 91% PROGRESSIVE INCOME TAX. Instead people think the deficit is due to social programs. Yet you wonder why we got Trump?
We have allowed the lies of birtherism, death panels, and the DEEP STATE to go UNANSWERED WITH HOT COUNTER RED MEAT RHETORIC. When Trump hits low WE NEED TO GO LOWER!
