The Trump Organization entered into an agreement with a Scottish airport in 2014 to increase traffic to his Turnberry golf resort, The New York Times reported.
In exchange for helping to drive more air traffic to the airport, the Glasgow Prestwick Airport agreed to add the Trump golf club to its list of hotels that it regularly sends aircrews to for accommodations, according to Scottish Freedom of Information documents obtained by the Times. The Trump Turnberry hotel is 20 miles away from the airport and one of the priciest on Glasgows accommodations list, according to the Times.
The Department of Defense and Glasgow officials confirmed to the Times on Monday that the U.S. Air Force also has an agreement with the airport Glasgow provides the Air Force with its necessary refueling services and also helps making arrangements for the aircrews to stay at nearby hotels.
According to a new report in Politico Monday evening, Air Force crew members have stayed the night at President Trumps Turnberry resort at least four times in the past year.

It appears as though other (Non-US) aircrews that fly into Prestwick are diverted to Trump's property in the quid pro quo.
UPDATE:
Look at Trump deny knowing anything about the deal to have people stay at his resort, from 3:25 to 5:35.

(19,023 posts)The airport was struggling and possibly could have to shutdown in the future. Turnberry would have closed shortly after the airport did. So this was about funneling US taxpayer money to the airport so it could sell fuel and charge fees to increase revenue. You're talking about $tens of millions of taxpayer dollars being used to prop up this airport that serves Trump's resort. That the airport then sent customers to Trump's resort is also illegal, but secondary.

I mean he didn't seem to be in the position to drive traffic to Prestwick until he started to run for office.
Then, all of a sudden visits to the Trump property would have possibly increased. After being POTUS it did.
