I'm sitting here pondering Bolton's firing/resignation and I'm wondering

what bombshell is going to hit the news in the next couple of days that Trump is preemptively trying to divert our attention from.

According to a tweet I just read, White House staff learned of Bolton's firing the same way we did - by tweet.

This is chaos.

It looks more like it got out that Bolton and Pence said 100% no way on the Taliban thing and Trump can't let it stand that he got overruled by anyone.

I think Pence and Bolton let it out that Trump was planning this and ruined it for him. In Trump's mind he was going to have this secret meeting and announce a great peace deal and the country would love it, he had built it up into this great idea that he could take credit for. Pence and Bolton knew it would have been a really bad idea and leaked it to kill it.

I don't think you could have found a pair of more kindred spirits in trump/bolton. And yet trump turned on him, as he has turned on just about everyone in his life.

I have to laugh. The other day his campaign sycophant, Brad Parscales, was talking about trump and family becoming a political dynasty. I think it was a day later that I read that Ivanka and Don Jr. hurled mutual allegations that the other was placing negative stories about him/her. Dynasty? Ivanka has been mocked ceaselessly, and properly IMHO, for years, and photos of Don Jr and Eric always come across as Dumb and Dumber. Sure, they may appeal to the hardcore cultists, but a dynasty? I don't think so.

True, like the Palins, for example, they'll (sadly) never leave the public eye, but I'm hoping, and expecting, that these appearances will be few and that they will be worthy of much mockery.

Trump IS NOT STRATEGIC. He doesn't plan events to distract attention from other events. He simply responds impulsively to the issue of the moment.

Trump is reactive; Bolton's termination/resignation (who cares) could have been saved for an opportune moment to distract from something else. It comes about in a temporary lull (relatively speaking) because who the hell knows?

and he’s probably vengeful and outspoken enough not to let Trump get away with lying about firing him. I’m sure that was a lie because Trump always lies.

from their website 9/10/19. I don't think Trump is even thinking things through anymore - just lashing out as his mental state deteriorates.

Maybe Bolton disagreed too strongly, and Trump just said fuck it. They're both evil in some contradictory ways. Bolton is "kill kill kill", while Trump is about personal ego and his self promotion as a master negotiator. He's also too stupid and lazy to deal with an actual war at the moment. If he ever decides to invade another country, it will be because he either thinks a victory will be quick and easy, or he has completely backed himself into a corner.

Bolton wants foreign wars, Trump wants personal profit and ethnic cleansing.

I've read speculation that perhaps it is suspected that Bolton leaked to knife Pompeo. Trump just wants to distract for the story, and had already sidelined Bolton.

Let's hope he's finally pissed off the wrong person and vile Bolton spills the beans on the Trump lunacy.
