Why did Trump say that he would release an "extreme" financial statement next year?

Why did he volunteer that information from out of the blue? I'm sure there was a reason?

In my opinion, he is attempting to head off any financial investigation into his purchase of the Trump Turnberry Golf Resort in Scotland. If asked about it, he can go back to the "financial statement" that he plans on releasing next year? That is one way to divert attention from the topic.

Also, it would indicate that he is concerned about that information. Perhaps an aspiring young reporter will dig down into this story and come up with some answers?

It was unusual for him to volunteer his financial information. Even if he never plans on doing it.

Folks will see HOW MUCH money he has, and no need for $ from hotel rooms. He framed it like that.

As for the document - expect it from an expert CPA - clone of Dr. Bornstien (or whatever the name is of the doc who gave the hippy dippy glowing health report during Trump's last campaign.) If it ever gets released, that is.

and he will have no choice but to comply. All those documents will be provided to the House by the Treasury and DFT's banks.

Nothing he can do about it after all his petulant suits fail.

If it is financial statements, he can manipulate them quite a bit or hide details. Not so much with tax returns.
