Trump Is Losing Texas By 5 As Lone Star Hispanic Democrats Surge

Trump Is Losing Texas By 5 As Lone Star Hispanic Democrats Surge
Hispanic Democratic voters are surging in Texas in the Lone Star state, and Trump is trailing against any Democrat by 5 points.

According to the Univision Texas Voter Poll:

Days away from the third Democratic debate in Houston and over a year from the 2020 presidential election, an exclusive poll by Univision News found that 40% of registered voters in the state say they will vote for the Democrat who prevails in the party’s primary, while 33% say they will support President Trump. If undecided voters leaning one way or the other are included, the advantage would be 47% to 42% in favor of the Democrats.

…..

Senator Bernie Sanders would win the state (48% against 42%). Similarly, former Vice President Joe Biden would win the state (47% to 43%), and the same would happen with Senator Warren (44% to 42%).

Trump trails with Hispanic voters in Texas 69%-19% with 12% undecided.

If Trump loses Texas, Hispanic voters will be the reason why.

It is interesting that such a large segment of the electorate in what has been deep red state have already made up their minds to vote against Trump. Instead of quibbling about which Democrat is better, Texas voters appear to be saying give us any of the top three Democrats who aren’t Donald Trump. Elizabeth Warren would have the most work to do to win the state, but she is the lesser-known of the top three Democrats, so that is to be expected.

One poll doesn’t mean that Democrats are going to win the state, but as with the Ted Cruz/Beto O’Rourke Senate election, Republicans might have to dump resources into propping Trump in red Texas that they were planning on using in a place like Pennsylvania.

Texas is in play, and Democrats may get a chance to turn the great red presidential election whale into a solid shade of blue.

sufficiently offended by Donnie’s vile actions and rhetoric that they rode themselves from their torpor and go to the polls in the autumn of 2020. If they do, the Big Red Capstone Of Republican presidential hopes takes a tumble and no. 45 will be on his way out.

They are just staying quiet. Ive been around bankers/business people all my career. Socially liberal but fiscally conservative. These people are winnable...but they will never buy into a huge social program. Gotta be a moderate Dem. At least in TX, from my experience.

Does your daughter like it here? I hate it. But I'm not in a blue part.

Near San Antonio, its the rich neighborhood her neighbor across the street has a mansion but on her side is the only 4 small houses. She spent more and property tax is huge but schools are great.

She now sees downside as she has zero in common with the richies. Her husband is in military he is officer in Air Force. They are out in less than 2 years and her husband likes the low prices in Texas, he is all about money.

She seems to like it there, I hate the weather myself but I have always lived on west coast.

I read her recent essay for a ethics class (last class for CPA) and she took a liberal position on stakeholders. I notice the more she is into yoga and mindfulness lately the more she leans to the left.

Money is the only thing and like most they don’t make enough for it to matter.

There has been a surge of permanent residents naturalizing to citizens since Trump became president. Lots of people were afraid that if anything happened, such as they got in trouble, like a DWI or anything, they would be deported after living here for 10 or 20 years. Now they can vote.

Waiting line for citizenship in Texas grows under Trump

The most recent spike in the backlog of applications from green card holders looking to become U.S. citizens began toward the end of the Obama administration, following a surge in applications ahead of the 2016 election. But the waiting list has grown significantly under the Trump administrationttps://www.texastribune.org/2018/08/09/trump-texas-backlog-citizenship-naturalization-applications/

to be true and accurate. But, hey, though a non-believer, I'll offer up a silent prayer, keep my fingers crossed, and see what happens. Democrats taking Texas, after all, is as likely as Trump beating the best prepared and qualified presidential candidate in American history -- and the universe owes us a big, happy surprise! (If the goddam universe cares at all, that is.)
