Irony. The First Federal Official To Push Back On Trump's Political Interference And Bullying...

...was a goddamn WEATHERMAN.

Not generals at the Pentagon, or FBI agents in the Hoover building. Not CIA spies in Langley, career diplomats in the State Department, epidemiologists at the FDA, or auditors at the Treasury. But a goddamn WEATHERMAN at NOAA! A SCIENTIST who cared about scientific integrity, truth and facts.

I find that pretty ironic, don't you? All those brass-hatted fakes in the Pentagon not saying a word about Trump dismantling defence funds for Ukraine against Russia to fund his vanity wall. FBI special agents throwing each other under the buss over the 'oranges' of the Mueller investigation into the Trump campaign's treason. You can do all that with no pushback from feckless careerists worried about their job security; but don't you dare f-ck with our WEATHER FORECAST! The National Weather Service is the first federal agency to stand up to Trump's childish bullying. How ironic is that?

I hope this puts the other federal agencies to shame, and maybe puts a little iron into their backs.

NOAA Assistant Administrator sends letter of support to NWS and NOAA, speaking out against political interference. Bravo.

"You know that the value of our science is in the complexity of our understanding, our ability to convey that understanding to a wide audience of users of this information, and to establish and sustain the public trust in the truth and legitimacy of that information. Unfortunately, the press release of last Friday violated this trust and violated NOAA's policies of scientific integrity. In my role as Assistant Administrator for Research, and as I continue to administratively serve as Acting Chief Scientist, I am pursuing the potential violations of our NOAA Administrative Order on Scientific Integrity. Thankfully, we have such policies that are independently cited as among the best in the federal community, if not the best. Your NOAA and OAR management and leadership team believes in these policies and principles. I have a responsibility to pursue these truths. I will."

could not let this go should make every American afraid. He is known for hitting back harder. This is our weather he is messing with. If the trumpster fire convinces his cult following not to trust them they would not evacuate during the next disaster. They will die.
