Psssssssssssst!Military Postpones Refueling Deal with Scottish Airport Amid Investigation

of ‘Serious Conflicts of Interest’
https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/military-postpones-refueling-deal-with-scottish-airport-amid-investigation-of-serious-conflicts-of-interest/
<snip>
The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) has slammed the brakes on a controversial airplane refueling arrangement with a Scottish airport amidst widespread scrutiny over the increasingly suspect deal.

According to The Scotsman reporter Martyn McLaughlin, DOD officials have postponed a multi-million dollar refueling agreement between the DOD and Scottish government-owned Glasgow Prestwick Airport. This pause comes against the backdrop of several congressional and media inquiries into the contours of that arrangement–as well as the massive expenditure of public funds at President Donald Trump‘s Turnberry golf course and hotel.

Critics have seized on the news out of Scotland in recent days to level allegations of corruption at the White House door. News reports of extended U.S. government stays at Turnberry and apparently unnecessary stopovers at Prestwick, those critics allege, suggest a pattern of self-dealing leading directly to President Trump himself.

Top House Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), have called for Trump’s impeachment over the matter–with overtones of old school political patronage and graft.

On Tuesday, the Democratic Party-led House Oversight Committee issued a paper warning to the Department of Defense threatening to subpoena records related to the Prestwick Airport and Turnberry resort situations. Democrats on the committee have been demanding such responsive records since June of this summer.

and yes we NEED to ITMFN. I think that before the month is over, it will be clear that the process is well under way. From the looks of Nancy today, I think she's in the end stages of the prep part of this.

Let's look at todays The Scotsman article....Prestwick kicked into the tall grass...

https://www.scotsman.com/news/us-military-fuel-deal-with-prestwick-kicked-into-long-grass-over-trump-investigation-1-5002381

The debt owed by the airport to the Scottish Government stands at £38.4m. Its most recent accounts show its holding company’s annual losses total £7.6m.

It comes as Scotland’s transport secretary, Michael Matheson, today refused to rule out the sale of the airport to the US military.

Up to three offers for Prestwick are being assessed following the deadline for full bids last Friday. The sale is due to be completed early next month.

Mr Matheson told Holyrood’s connectivity committee that discussing potential bidders would “infringe on the integrity" of the sale process.

While the US Air Force (USAF) has launched its own review of the use of overseas airports and hotels, Politico reported today that Senator Gary Peters, the top Democrat on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, has formally requested an independent investigation into the USAF’s increased use of Prestwick and overnight stays at Mr Trump’s loss making hotel, which itself remains reliant on £107m in loans.

In a letter to the Pentagon, the Michigan senator wrote: “I am disturbed by the growing number of those in government willing to engage in questionable taxpayer funded travel to and lodging at properties owned by the president - properties from which President Trump can draw income at any time.”

Is the US Military a bidder of this Scottish airport??...

They like their personal airplanes and dabbling in a little corruption now and then. Donald Trump is the perfect Commander in Chief for them. Just my opinion.

I haven't yet seen any details of contracts or payments for those flights.

N475LC and N478GS, the two Gulfstream IV jets owned by L3 Technology and operated by Centurion Aviation Services, both of which provided covert services for the US military (CIA) during the war on terror.

A more recent article says there have been more than 75 such flights. From 2018:

MSPs demand action over use of Scottish airports for rendition

Not sure if these operations were part of DOD contracts???
