Because of the way this Electoral College is balanced, an overwhelming vote by Navajos can win Arizona for the Democrats and Trump will be finished. (The Navajo Nation is the size of West Virginia, so it is a very significant part of the rural Arizona vote, especially with the two urban counties polling solidly Democratic.)

(8,203 posts)We concluded our message to Navajos by saying, Make sure everyone in your family is registered to vote, even that nephew who sometimes is not serious about responsibilities. You know who I mean.
Dont worry about Phoenix or Tucson. They are taken care of. We just need enough Navajo votes to beat Prescott, Kingman and Yuma. We can do this.
Footnote: We spent the last three days traveling the Navajo Reservation with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kelly. This message was highly effective.
Mark Kelly is up against Mcsally..who doesn't need to hold town hall meetings, just ask her..she thinks just walking out and about is all it takes...
Thank you for this yortsed snacilbuper..imagine hired best organizer on the Navajo Nation for eight hours at $120 a week. Glad to help double her hours......

(2,115 posts)...if it is a close one, there is very little that could make me happier than proof that "the people" of the Navajo Reservation in Arizona were the deciding factor in making Arizona the deciding swing state. Their Hopi, Paiute, Apache and other brethren would do well to up their game and get out the vote. A thankful country might even give them some of their land back.

(31,925 posts)Answer they don't vote. This comes up every election in AZ. The Navajos are going to make a difference. They never do because their turnout is very low. Voting and not voting are both habits which are hard to break.

(26,598 posts)The tribes could make a difference in a few states, if they would vote.
There's been plenty of racism and voter suppression fueling the lack of participation.

(90,538 posts)...have a street name and street number on their voter reg form.
This sounds innocuous for suburbanites and city-dwellers, but for deeply rural areas it's more than a little problematic. The article I read said there was a big push among registrars to come up with names and numbers for dirt roads in a widely-dispersed population that never had them and never needed them.
Evil never sleeps.
