Several years ago I noticed that one of the students in my lecture room always wore a jacket to class. Well not only is that odd, but he also looked like a member of the police force. So I passed a note to him and asked him to come to my office.
I asked him if he was carrying his weapon into my lecture room and he said yes. I took out the university's regulations (he was supposed to leave it at the police post before attending lectures/tutorials) and asked him to go to the Dean's office and sort it out because he would not be allowed in my rooms with a weapon for my safety and the safety of fellow students. He told the Dean that it was about time because he didn't want to be late for lectures.
He complied and showed up on time without the weapon and we developed a decent relationship.

(23,813 posts)...of mystery knowledge, we have not had anyone carrying guns into the pediatric office. I suppose you never know what might be concealed in those diaper bags.

No one around me is going to be carrying a weapon. I am terrified of guns.
