I watch it and consciously think Im learning what is going on, getting informed; but Im also. Passively absorbing certain underlying and subconscious messages such as 1) The Personality and corruption of one man is What Matters, 2) the problems are monstrous, systemic and almost hopeless to solve, 3) wringing our hands and hoping that fellow Americans will vote for Democrats is the pinnacle of activism... etc.
The outrage over trumps actions is justified but does the format just get us used to powerless hopelessness?
