A majority supports women having the freedom to make their own medical choices.
A majority support registration of guns.
A majority support banning semi-automatic weapons.
A majority support required registration of guns.
A majority support protecting the right to vote.
A majority support the right to form and belong to a union.
A majority, 70%, support Medicare for All.
But the US corporate media supports the narrative that the US is a center right country. And so all of these things which in fact are supported by the majority are treated as unattainable and too far left.
So when are we, the actual silent majority, going to wake up and shout down the vocal minority of far right lobbyists, civil war fantasists, and puppets of the far right and demand that politicians do what we want?
Hint:
One way we cannot do this is by failing to vote, or casting a protest vote to supposedly teach the Democrats a lesson.

(42,641 posts)My view is the progressives are great at solving problems, but lacking in messaging. For far too long, the GOP and the corporate media have pushed the false narrative about the US being a center right country.
In reality, the GOP is pushing extreme right policies so that any compromise involves the Democrats constantly having to shift to the right.

(113,010 posts)Medicare for all is too scary.
And this is amazing because, as should be obvious, Medicare is actually a very popular program.
And the US lags behind every other developed democracy that already has a form of single payer.
Being ranked 37th in the world is not a sign that all is well with the US healthcare system. The only ones happy with this system are the insurance companies that make so much money under this system.
I posted this recently about insurance company propaganda:

(113,010 posts)Clinton was for it for awhile. Obama believes in it, but, at the time, took what he thought he could get.
The poll numbers for Med for All are high. Time to get it done.

What about coal company employees?
What about the many other industries that disappeared?

(113,010 posts)Thanks to Obamas efforts to stabilize the train wreck of an economy he inherited. That makes NOW the perfect time. When better than now while there are so many job openings for those canned from their unnecessary insurance agency jobs?
