I want history to show that at least a part of Congress agreed that Trump and his administration were so corrupt that he deserved impeachment. If Trump is allowed to get away with this, it will set a terrible precedent. It will announce to all the sociopaths out there that the presidency is the way to enrich oneself at the expense of the American taxpayer. We are lucky that Trump is an idiot. The next Trump will not be an idiot.

Even if a Democrat wins in 2020, the U.S. will still have a hard time regaining the position it had in the world a three years ago. I've been listening to French and French-Canadian news. From the outside, people can't see the division within the United States. They see Trump and his insanity as representing all Americans. It will take a very long time to undo that damage.
