SEPTEMBER 13, 2019 06:10 PM, UPDATED 45 MINUTES AGO
An anti-vaccine activist who traveled to the Capitol to protest on the final day of the legislative year threw an unknown red substance on the desks of Senate lawmakers on Friday afternoon, prompting a quick recess and an immediate evacuation of the chambers.
The protesters were watching the Senate from the upstairs balcony, according to lawmakers, when a woman hurled a red liquid that landed on senators desks, yelling thats for the dead babies.
A few minutes ago, the anti-vaxxer stalkers whove engaged in a harassment campaign all week dropped a red substance onto the Senate floor from the elevated public gallery, dousing several of my colleagues, state Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, wrote on Twitter. These anti-vaxxers are engaging in criminal behavior. Theyve now repeatedly assaulted senators and are engaging in harassing and intimidating behavior every single day, as we try to do the peoples work. Theyre a cancer on the body politic and are attacking democracy.
Sen. Steve Glazer, D-Orinda, posted a photo of what appeared to be a bloody menstrual cup on the floor of the state Senate. He said he and five other senators were hit by the liquid.

(2,343 posts)some kind of assault. What a disgusting and violent way to protest!
Vocal anti-vaxxers have got to be some of the most apeshit crazy activists the world knows. And they can so easily get triggered! I made the mistake of liking a friends FB post a few months ago with the link to an commentary suggesting unvaccinated kids needing to be kept out of public schools for public health and safety. That was noticed by friend, who then started posting various pro-vaxx propaganda links. Im far from passionate about the subject, but dont mind being open I find the anti-vaxx movement troglodytic. I said as much and was attacked by various FB friends of all political persuasions. Thats when I learned its an issue with strange bedfellows. It really got ugly before I shut it down. You absolutely cant have a discussion with them. Its almost like a religion to them!
There are many other super-controversial topics Ill chime in on WAY before Ill ever do with that topic!

(51,432 posts)crazy BS in the first place. They seem to be easily influenced, especially by social media. I have heard that Russia uses this issue to divide Americans too...gee, what a surprise.

Or any perceived issue on the subject.
It's a movement. A movement unrelated to anything substantive or life-affirming. Just something for crazy people to latch onto and be passionate about.
Never in history has a group of people more needed to hear the admonishment: Get a life!...
