They have to promise to obey the orders of the President of the United States, who is their Commander-in-Chief. That is what they were asked to do, as the video clearly shows. They were not asked to "pledge allegiance to President Trump" or to "support President Trump" or to "swear loyalty to President Trump" or anything else.

I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me G-d."

I wonder why this was done at a soccer game?!

Shows how much Trump has trashed the office of President with the civilian population.

The announcer said the president of the United States. I get the point you're potentially making, but the headline is deceiving as to what happened. It implies that the announcer said President Trump. He didn't.

This is the same oath I took when I enlisted in 1977. Was I pledging loyalty to President Carter? I was pledging to obey the orders of the Commander-in-Chief and all other officers over me.

So help me God."
