During the winter of her freshman year, a drunken dormitory party unsettled her deeply. She and some classmates had been drinking heavily when, she says, a freshman named Brett Kavanaugh pulled down his pants and thrust his penis at her, prompting her to swat it away and inadvertently touch it. Some of the onlookers, who had been passing around a fake penis earlier in the evening, laughed.
We also uncovered a previously unreported story about Mr. Kavanaugh in his freshman year that echoes Ms. Ramirezs allegation. A classmate, Max Stier, saw Mr. Kavanaugh with his pants down at a different drunken dorm party, where friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student. Mr. Stier, who runs a nonprofit organization in Washington, notified senators and the F.B.I. about this account, but the F.B.I. did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly. (We corroborated the story with two officials who have communicated with Mr. Stier.)
Mr. Kavanaugh did not speak to us because we could not agree on terms for an interview. But he has denied Dr. Fords and Ms. Ramirezs allegations, and declined to answer our questions about Mr. Stiers account.

A song parody with kick ass lyrics, written on its YouTube post.
Here's just a snippet:
Lyrics:
Boofo, Boofo, the Supreme Court Judge
Everyone hates Buffo, but hell never hold a GRUDGE
Boofo, Boofo, the Supreme Court Judge
Little rough at parties, Wouldnt even think to BUDGE
Shut up you little tease, Turn up the volume
Boofo he inherits Justice Roberts legacy
Sitting on judicial complaints except from Donny T.
Ladies, wire coat hangers, what else do you see?
He loves the idea so much, Hell buy the company.

(18,837 posts)Don't know what to tell you. It's the NYT, and if the statement is incorrect, it's incorrect. I don't have time tonight to fact-check it. I'm not being sarcastic, I literally do not have time tonight, so if you have a source, please feel free to add it to this post. It showed up in a tweet about 10 minutes ago, I went to NYT, did my post, and that's what happened.

(6,791 posts)just as stated in the article. The Ramirez allegation was reported before he was confirmed. The Stiers allegation is new. For those who did not catch that, you might want to read the quote again.
Miles's headline is not inaccurate.

(21,984 posts)Basically I was referring to Ramirez and Ford allegations.
Stiers was corroborating.
Stier was telling a new story, not corroborating the Ramirez or Ford story. That's the whole point of the headline.

(31,261 posts)The key is to get rid of Trump, people can piss and moan all they want about Speaker Pelosi not pushing impeachment, but the only way to get rid of Trump is to crush him electorally and leave no doubt, but if people get pissy because their choice was not nominated for President, we could lose when we should have easily won.

(46,682 posts)You still have to persuade the public. And to do that, you have to continue applying pressure to release the information they need to vote in the manner that will result in the way that would remedy this situation.

I stopped believing that our US Attorney Office and the FBI are objective. I can now go back to the Clinton years to recognize that they lean Republican.

(2,088 posts)We all know this kind of situation absolutely sucks, hell, even most Rethugs would feel same. So why are we hearing about this now? We all knew about this Sick Kav during his hearings, we watched, read and knew then, so why now? I will say simply, do not be sucked in by supposedly "strong stories", they are nothing more than a distraction to generate strong responses. And when we lose our focus and react,, we are missing the big picture.. Stay Focused all, these kind of stories are just games,IMHO

He was a Republican nominee, and that was good enough for them.
Were the vote to be held today, there would be no difference in the outcome (McSally would have voted the way Flake did). Moscow Mitch would have gotten his boy in, no matter what he did.

(58,785 posts)This is government work, paid by taxpayers, with the kind of benefits that once came with most jobs, but no more. The vast majority can't replace these incomes and benefits in the private sector. College degree is not required, though a little AA in criminal justice can help get hired over competition, and see the site and below for what draws competition.
Note on the pay chart the next grades above entry level, noncompetitive -- not bad at all for high school grads, and you move up just by being there.
13 to 26 days of annual leave accrued per year (variation based on years of Federal service)
10 Federal holidays per year
15 days of military reserve leave
13 days of sick leave accrued per year
Opportunities for paid training
They also, critically, work toward handsome retirement annuities, which would be lost if they quit. A 21-year-old who keeps his nose clean can retire if he chooses at either 41 or 46 with either a standard or augmented lifetime annuity. As the website puts it: "Employees that retire from CBP can count on the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) to enjoy life after working."

Kavanaugh seems to have some sort of problem with self-control. It seems to date back to his prep school days and to his college days as well. Why is such a person sitting on the bench of the SCOTUS? Why is that even possible?
Let's demand better personal behavior on the part of our elected and appointed officials. Enough of this childish nonsense!
