teen suicides in this state. It opened with a story of a 16 or 17 year old girl who took the gun her mother had tucked behind her bed (and had told the daughter about it) and killed herself.

Without the gun that girl would almost undoubtedly still be alive.

Look, I get it that suicide is a huge problem, and that those determined to kill themselves will find a way (trust me, I know this from sad personal experience) but let's start by getting rid of the guns.

Actually, the second amendment is to do with muzzle loading rifles, and as for 'a well regulated militia', gun lovers don't actually know what that means.

A time travelling founding father would look at the above list and ask where in the second amendment it says people have the right to blow away fellow citizens.

NRA, feel free to field that question.

that the U.S. government allowing all these deadly weapons onto the streets where they can end up in the wrong hands and be used irresponsibly--very often with fatal results--constitutes a crime(s) against humanity.
