2. I didn't know she was that old - wow

Didn't she start out on public radio? I haven't paid any attention to her for a long time. She was probably not the worst or the best of journalists. That's a low bar these days.

3. As I've said in other threads...She was a Bush apologist and nasty to the Clintons & Obama.

Blech.

I'm glad to never have to hear her voice again.

5. My most vivid memory of her is from the Elian Gonzalez fiasco, if anyone remembers that.

I recall her arguing that the "bond" the boy had formed with his kidnappers over a few months superceded his lifelong bond with his father and grandparents, and that it would be too "traumatic" for him to be reunited with his proper family.

And she was allegedly a mother herself.

That was when I stopped listening to anything she had to say, so I missed alot of her later RW hackery.

My blood still boils when I think about her.

Sounds like her kind of garbage, though.

Anything to make Bill Clinton look like a villain she was happy to do.

I don't understand the love she is getting around here today.

7. Maybe most people here just vaguely recall that she worked for NPR

Or are simply looking at her biography that's in the news today, and don't recall the sorts of things she actually used to say.

but "legendary"? I would question the use of that description although maybe in her mind she was.
