(118,018 posts)and dictators they deal with. There has to be some secrecy. And some access to our internet. Let's not be thrilled Snowdon may be spilling more secrets, these ones perhaps not illegal actions the government takes, in this world we live in.

(7,511 posts)their actions. No one should be above the law for any reason. If something is that important then change the law to allow it. What was being done by the NSA was clearly and without a doubt unconstitutional and should have never happened.
I think the bigger issue is what checks and balances do we have to make sure this doesn't happen again and how do we protect whistleblowers in the future.

(7,511 posts)our government. They do not have carte blanche to do as they please without oversight as seems to be the case these days. If we don't demand that then our intelligence services will lose their credibility and with all of the recent lies and misinformation that has come out it is becoming a very big issue.
