Nadler SPANKS Lewandowski attorney: "If his counsel doesn't like it, you don't interpret our rules"

“Mister Chairman, as you know I am counsel for Mr. Lewandowski—” began the attorney.

“You are not a witness and you should not be seated at that table,” cut in House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) sharply.

“I understand that,” said Lewandowski’s attorney. “I will leave after I register a formal protest based upon the debate that I heard. These seem to be unauthorized questions and I know you choose your words carefully—”

“Mr. Lewandowski will answer all questions,” said Nadler. “If he has a legitimate privilege to assert, he may of course assert the legitimate privilege, other than that he is under subpoena. He will answer all questions. This is being done pursuant to the committee’s rules and of his counsel doesn’t like it, you don’t interpret our rules, with all due respect.”

Lewandowski is a pussy, no wonder the creature asked him to his office..."To the best of my recollection"..Geez! Its a "Yes" or "No" you moron, be a man, you are old enough now. Unbelievable! I really hope the Democrats have ways to bring him back and make him answer all the questions like a grown up...He was so brave with Cuomo, and then I guess it was Hannity? "I will answer all their questions, blah, blah, blah" and then he comes in and shits in his pants.

What is even more aggravating was his body language every time he said "I cannot talk about that as it is privilege information" and "to the best of my knowledge", this grandiose attitude as if he was doing something great instead of looking like a wimp who cannot answer questions. What an ass...

One way to speak to the public is through the media, as Lewandowski knows very well. New Hampshire voters take note.

We need to get tough. That was not a spanking. A spanking would have been holding him in contempt and hauling this shitstain away from the table. Why are we putting up with this shit? The GOP would have never let Hillary or any Dems they were questioning pull this shit.

We need to get tough and the hearings need to be better managed. Right now, the stagecraft and optics are awful. We look weak and disorganized. We aren't convincing the American people of anything the way we are doing it. In Watergate, the hearings were managed by Doar, so they had cohesiveness and told a clear story. That is what Hillary advised we do in her editorial earlier this year. Did we listen? Nope.

18. Or he could have just ended the hearing

If he was done with Lewandowski, he could have just gaveled the hearing to a close without the histrionics of having Lewandowski dragged out.

But then, that would have meant the committee wouldn't have gotten anything out of Lewandowski, including his admissions of perjury and obstruction of justice and wouldn't have given the country the opportunity to see Barry Berke work him over but good.

Since the point of the hearing was to get information in the record, not to make Lewandowski fall on the table and confess to everything he'd ever done wrong in his life or to create a circus of parading Lewandowski out of the room because he refused to answer some questions under executive privilege (which refusal doesn't constitute contempt on Lewandowski's part anyway, so there weren't grounds to hold him in contempt for not answering those questions), the course of action Nadler took was the right one.

He said it wasn't within his power to waive executive privilege because it wasn't his to invoke. He wasn't the one invoking the privilege and he can't waive it on someone's behalf. And it's also not on him to decide whether the invocation is valid. That's for the Committee, the WH and the courts to work out amongst themselves. Given that, his refusal to answer questions on those grounds Ian t contempt.

Lewandowski both admitted that he had no right to claim executive privilege, continued to refuse to answer the critical questions for which he had been summoned, and yet walked away without facing any consequences

Lewandowski said he has no right to claim executive privilege and he was right. That's because that privilege is not his to claim. The White House invoked it, not Lewandowski. Lewandowski never admitted that the invocation wasn't legal, just that he wasn't the one invoking it because the executive privilege belongs to the executive, not to the people whose communication with the executive is privileged.

Lewandowski was never part of the executive branch nor involved in any privileged executive branch deliberations and he had no obligation to obey the White House request not to testify. Indeed, obeying that request made him party to the White House obstruction of justice.

Please stop repeating White House talking points excusing this outrage.

I'm not buying what you're selling. All is not well and Lewandowski was not right.

You're just flat out wrong, but it's pointless to argue with you about it since your lack of knowledge about this is matched only by your certainty of your expertise.

If the Repubs want a TV show, then the Dems better know how to produce the counter show. We need someone with political experience AND show business to take over questioning of these arrogant thugs like Lowendowski. Where are you, Al Franken or Rob Reiner? We need you !!
