See how fast their little asses get in those chairs if one of them is hauled off to jail. See how many try and filibuster once Lewandowsky is arrested for lying to congress!
At this point I believe that Congress is complicit in allowing Trump to break the law by not enforcing all of congresses DUTIES to the United States and the Constitution!
The 2 that didn't show up today for the hearings should have been picked up by the sergeant at arms.
After all, if Trump can get away with this for previous employees then why couldn't he get away with it for anyone on trial or set as a witness? He will most likely try this with the Southern District of NY although I believe they will use their own power in a way that our Congress seems to be afraid to do.
It's either that or allow the fucking president to run this country like Putin's Russia!

The base didn't pay Cohen and Manafort's fines.

The Dems cannot stand around while Barr ignores the rule of law. We are a group of very smart people. Something can be figured out.

(1,701 posts)Say $5,000 per day is Barr in charge of that accruing fine as well? Fining these scumbags will force them into a lot of costly legal and personal problems. Putting lien on their homes, salaries, bank accounts will freeze them financially. Hiring lawyers to fight the fines will ding them deeply and tRUMP can't have us taxpayers pay for all their legal defenses. Just sayin.. there's away around Barr as I see it.

(32,640 posts)Because apparently fining isn't enough red meat for them.
I agree, fining them much, much faster and effective at getting their attention than pursuing criminal charges that could take years.
Good luck trying to explain that to people who think anything less than ARREST THEM NOW is "cowardice" on the part of Congress.

(32,640 posts)What is it that congress can do, but is 'afraid' to do that is going to "shrink his power?"
I don't think that the mistake equating anything will make us cheer and say FUCK YEAH!! with something that will have the effect that we expect it will have is positive.
Cohen taking a plea and getting less time didn't make me cheer, but I believe that what he's turning over will do far more damage to Trump in the long run that simply locking him up and throwing away the key, however gratifying that may have been.

(7,498 posts)need to be clear no enabler of the crimes will walk free. This might shake loose a whistleblower or three and might be a deterrent when asked to break the law.
