Trump has replaced almost 1/4 of appeals court judges

Obviously this is bad, but I actually had the impression that the situation was even worse.

In fact I read somewhere that many liberal judges are postponing their retirements to try to prevent Trump from appointing their replacements. So most of these new trump-appointed judges could merely be replacing other conservatives.

This HuffPost article has a good summary of Trump's judicial appointments compared to previous administrations:

If we don't at least tie the Senate McConnell will do that same thing he did to President Obama and simply hold up judicial nominations.

Of course, liberal judges will try to wait for a Democrat... but quite a number of them did that under Obama and the Republican senate held the seats open. So many of Trump's early picks were quite significant shifts.

And, of course, replacing a retiring conservative judge with a much younger conservative judge locks that seat down for additional decades.

I never finished an analysis I was working on... but to me, it looked as though Trump had almost as much impact on the courts in his first two and a half years as the average president has in two terms. If Ginsburg and/or Breyer fails to hold through the term... it will be the most significant impact of any president in our lifetime.
