The Mendacity of the Right-Wing Misogyny Edition

The mendacity displayed when the right-wing man asserts control of his woman to the point she cannot think or act in her own best interests turning her into as much of a lying machine as he is something to behold. And then of course we have the lies, the dissembling, the deceit and the dishonesty of the right wing when dealing with the fairer sex. Now I am not going to talk about reproductive justice or sexual violence in this context, they deserve articles all their own. But never fear, we still have plenty of examples of the lies they tell, the dissembling, the distortion, the eye boggling mental leaps of illogical fallacy and let's face it, the downright hypocrisy with which they handle policy and religious issues as they pertain to women.

Did you know that you can be a huge strapping football player and land such a punch that your girlfriend is knocked unconscious and it will be all her fault?

Did you know that when it comes to getting paid less than your male counterpart in the work place the blame lies firmly with you? You see, as a little woman you have now been given the benefit of an education, lucky you! If you do not use the education kindly bestowed on you to better your position that is all your fault. Hell, you were lucky they agreed to give you an education at all, so never mind that 17% pay gap, just be thankful for what you have. Do I really need the sarc tag?

Did you know that 'modesty is hottest'. Pat Robinson said so, so it must be true. While I was researching this article I read a jaw dropping blog by a right wing Christian, who seems to have decided that his opinion on modesty is a must for all those good Christian women out there: 'I think that in public with strangers that a woman can always show her neck and upper chest, arms below the shoulder, and the leg below the knee. I think that women can show more in an exercise/sport situation. I’m opposed to showing cleavage to strangers in public. It attracts the wrong kind of attention and in the wrong way. ' Well thank goodness we have got that sorted out. Cover up unless you are with your man. If you do not, well any harm that befalls you will be down to how you dress, not how the man behaves.

Did you know that 'all pretty girls are right-wingers'? Another classic example of how a woman can be just as sexist as a man when she puts her mind to it. This doozy was from Anne Coulter.

Did you know that by focusing on marriage rather than a career woman can avoid sexual assault? Really, honestly. In a really warped way this has a kind of logic to it. After all, if you are not allowed to leave the house then your risk of sexual assault probably does drop somewhat. Well at least the stranger danger type of sexual assault. It says nothing of the danger of sexual assault in the home. Oh, my bad, these lot do not believe you can be raped if you are married.

Did you know that if you are career orientated you are the biggest perpetrator of the destruction of the family? Obviously only radical feminists would want a career and by choosing this selfish option you are raising a generation that has no values and shirking your God given responsibility to raise your family. I think you might go to hell for this. All careers are bad, unless of course, you are a female republican politician who worships at the altar of right wing misogyny and works to maintain the status-quo on behalf of your over lord. Then a career is OK and you will probably get your own cloud in heaven. I think this might even be in the bible.

Did you know that unless you are a wife, a mother or a homemaker you have no value? Sorry to break it to you, but your achievements and accomplishments mean nothing at all unless you have a squeezed out a few puppies, raised them right in the eyes of the Lord and know how to bake, iron, sew and have that drink waiting for your fine upstanding breadwinner when he comes home from his very important job. My eyes are rolling so far back in my head everything has gone dark.....

The definition of mendacity includes: untruthfulness, dishonesty, deceit, deception, dissembling, insincerity, disingenuous, hypocrisy and duplicity. You know what they say……if the shoe fits. And the shoe fits very well indeed.

1. Women's contributions to the World are valueless unless done for someone else and domestic

I learned that from my own family:

Working women w/ no kids + a home to keep up - very busy, work constantly doing it all alone - ZERO appreciation for that.

Married women w/ kids and husbands who work hard home-keeping & mommying and wifeying - LOTS of appreciation for that. "she works SO hard!" (so does the woman in example #1 but since she's doing it all for herself and not a husband and didn't pop out babies, - it has no value)

But in any realm, women's work is devalued, undervalued or just not valued at all.

How much would it cost for a man to pay over a lifetime: a surrogate to have his babies, a nanny to raise them, a housekeeper, a personal shopper and bookkeeper, etc? Yea, I know the guys "fix things" (no don't assume that because many of them don't and can't and shouldn't be expected to), mow lawns and do yardwork and take out trash. I know plenty of women who do ALL THAT, too.
