Pompeo: Saudi oil attack an 'act of war' by Iran

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday said the attacks on two oil refineries in Saudi Arabia were "an Iranian attack" that was an "act of war."

"We were blessed that there were no Americans killed in this attack but any time you have an act of war of this nature, there’s always risk that that could happen,” Pompeo told reporters.
“This is an attack of a scale we’ve just not seen before."

Pompeo told reporters off camera Wednesday that the attack was directed by Iran, and claims by the Houthis rebels in Yemen that they were responsible "doesn't change the fingerprints of the Ayatollah as having put at risk the global energy supply."

(Pompeo is in Saudi Arabia to discuss options going forward)

We have no treaty with Saudi Arabia, and they have purchased enough of our weapons to take care of themselves. There is no justification to come to their aid.

Sick of these f*cking greedy idiots.

We don't have any treaty obligations with Saudi Arabia. An attack on SA, unlike an attack on, say, England or France, isn't considered an attack on the United States. If Pompeo's that jacked out of shape about it, maybe he could send Jared over there as a special envoy or something? I'm sure the Sauds and the Iranians would accord him the greatest respect.

WE need to keep our noses out of this business unless it is to stop selling arms to murderers and forcing Saudis to the peace table.
