https://www.rawstory.com/2019/09/black-principal-instantly-questioned-by-white-cop-because-he-incidentally-walked-up-on-a-crime-scene/On Wednesday, the Baltimore County Police released disturbing body camera footage of a white police officer antagonizing a black high school principal in front of his 15-year-old son, and demanding to know whether he was responsible for a crime scene he had just witnessed because he happened to be walking past.
You guys werent involved in that at all were you? the officer asked Vance Benton and his son in the footage, which was shared by the Daily Mail.
Why would you ask me that? Benton shot back incredulously.
Because youre standing here, replied the officer.
I can stand here, said Benton. Im a citizen. I pay taxes here. I just told you Im educating my son on how to deal with police.
Well let me educate you, sir, said the officer. When we do a thorough investigation, we stop and talk to witnesses. Are you a witness?
Ask me that first, said Benton. Why would you ask me if Im involved? Ask me if Im a witness. If Im a witness, Im not involved.
Sir, people get away with crime because of people like you, said the officer angrily.
My man. People like me? Benton said.

Baltimore County police release video of confrontation between city school principal and officer
By Liz Bowie
Baltimore Sun | Sep 18, 2019 | 5:41 PM
Baltimore County police released a video Wednesday afternoon of a confrontation between a white officer and an African-American city school principal who filed a complaint saying he was treated with disdain because of his race.
The Baltimore County Police Department said last week that it has concluded the investigation into the incident and is taking administrative action against the officer. The department did not describe the action it is taking.
Vance Benton, who has been principal of Patterson High School for the past eight years, said he was with his 15-year-old son when he walked up to the scene of police arresting a young man in Owings Mills. The arrest was taking place on July 29 on the street where he lives.
The officer approaches Benton and asks him if he is involved in the situation. Benton asks him why he would think he was involved.
You are hindering my investigation, the officer says to Benton. A few seconds later the officer says it is because of people like Benton that people get away with crimes. As the confrontation escalates the officer asks, Can you even read? and proceeded to spell his last name Price in an exaggerated way. The police department has not released the officers first name.
The officer, apparently talking to Bentons son, Taj, said, Hopefully you find a good role model. I wouldnt listen to this dude."

wishing and HOPING and begging the father to do something rash. Like a fucking child...I'm not touching you I'm not touching you I'm not touching you...begging for a reaction.
And then what? You gonna shoot him in front of his son? Or only beat and arrest him, again in front of his son? Teach THEM a lesson...subserviance, humiliation.
You're a prick of the worst kind. The kind of prick that only picks a fight when you got backup. Disgusting.
