(7,947 posts)The "two former DNI officials" who have been talking to WaPo -- I hope it's Coats and his former deputy. Can't be the IG as he is still there at DNI.
But more people will be talking soon, maybe in other parts of the Intel community.

(12,712 posts)Haven't we been playing this board game for a while: Find Out What The Traitor Did!
Is there some square we have to land on so we can pick a card from the, "What Are The Consequences?" deck? So far, Player One has been landing on the MC HAMMER square over and over again. You know, the one that says, "You can't touch this!"
I think this board game sucks and it looks rigged to me

August 1, 201910:14 AM ET
President Trump spoke with President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday and offered U.S. help in fighting widespread forest fires raging in parts of Siberia, according to a Kremlin account of the call.
Putin, in response, expressed his "sincere gratitude" to Trump and said that if necessary, he will accept the offer, the Kremlin said on its website.
"The President of Russia regards the US President's offer as a sign that it is possible that full-scale bilateral relations will be restored in the future," the statement from the Kremlin read.

The call between Trump and Putin comes just days before Friday's expected U.S. withdrawal from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with Russia.

(1,203 posts)This analysis of corruption by the current regime (not Administration) is no longer an intellectual exercise or a show to be viewed from the sidelines. If this whistleblower has concrete evidence of treason, (and we can no longer trust our own Dem. representatives to show backbone IMMEDIATELY), then it's time to get into the streets.

I was thinking of commenting with the same phraseIf Obama did this every time 45 does something that, had it been Obama, the right wings wailing and gnashing of teeth would have been deafening.
I came to my senses when I realized Id have to post If Obama did this a minimum of 3-4 times per day, sometimes more.

Read the law.
Of course the president can unclassify something. Whistle blower would not be whistle blowing on that. And the ICIG found it to be credible and urgent!
Explanation of credible and urgent from the law concerning this

(1,587 posts)necessity. Putin is a highly trained and experienced professional who understands the value of secrecy and how to maintain it. He handles tRump. Our IC eventually is likely going to have to go on the assumption that everything tRump knows has been passed on to our enemies, unless confirmed otherwise. And yes, I do not believe we will know the full extent and levels to which this country has been betrayed. Our IC may require years for confirmation. It is, as the Brits would understate, a bad situation.
