NPR: Russia Says Trump Offered To Help Putin Fight Forest Fires In Siberia
August 1, 201910:14 AM ET
President Trump spoke with President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday and offered U.S. help in fighting widespread forest fires raging in parts of Siberia, according to a Kremlin account of the call.
Putin, in response, expressed his "sincere gratitude" to Trump and said that if necessary, he will accept the offer, the Kremlin said on its website.
"The President of Russia regards the US President's offer as a sign that it is possible that full-scale bilateral relations will be restored in the future," the statement from the Kremlin read.

The call between Trump and Putin comes just days before Friday's expected U.S. withdrawal from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with Russia.

Epstein's suicide:
Both guards had fallen asleep @ the same time
Both video cameras stopped working
Epstein's injury were more in line with being strangled then hanging himself from a bunk bed
The prison was under Bill Barr's jurisdiction
We are dealing with the biggest series of crimes in our history.

(58,785 posts)Trump's calling Putin offer help fighting fires in Siberia sounds like a variation on the Russian adoption excuse. However, for all we know Trump could be betraying with half his calls, and the whistleblower could have heard another.
Interestingly, someone pointed out that, generally speaking, Trump has the authority to blab classified information to foreign leaders if he chooses and that "urgent concern" would not apply to something the whistleblower believed Trump was authorized to do, no matter how urgently concerned it made the listener feel.

(7,947 posts)Putin was boxing Trump in-- constantly positioning every communication as another indication that sanctions would be lifted. And Trump keeps giving concessions. So... what was the promise? "Do WHAT for me and I'll get the sanctions lifted?"
Or was it about the spy? When did the news about the spy come out? Sept. 9. Who leaked that? Was it a way for Trump to let Putin know where the spy was?

·In the weeks before the whistleblower complaint, Trump had spoken by phone with Putin and voiced his opposition to CIA spying on North Korea.
Did that slip through somehow? Trump told Putin that he doesn't want the CIA to spy on, uh, our enemy? And why was he telling Putin this?
Anyone have any ideas? Could this be the smoking gun? It's not a promise, and I doubt Putin cares that much about North Korea, does he (though they do have a tiny stretch of border).
