Trump Sues New York Prosecutors To Block Release Of Tax Returns
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-sues-new-york-prosecutors-to-block-release-of-tax-returns_n_5d8397e5e4b070d468c8afdc
President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit on Thursday against Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and Mazars USA, the presidents longtime accounting firm, in an attempt to prevent his tax returns from being released.
Vances office issued a subpoena to Mazars in late August demanding eight years of Trumps personal and corporate tax returns, The New York Times reported earlier this week. The order is part of state prosecutors investigation into whether The Trump Organization illegally reported a hush money reimbursement as a business expense.

OP
Maybe Vance should just ignore the lawsuit in the same manner Republicans ignore subpoenas.,

(82,849 posts)3. Does Trump have standing to sue in federal court?
The subpoena was issued in state court to an accounting firm, not Donald Trump. A federal lawsuit doesn't seem to be the correct legal remedy.
