1. I condemn it too, but listening to a piece on NPR this morning I found it ludicrous that they were

basically writing him off (or at least echoing his conservative opponents who obviously are calling for his head in the height of hypocrisy).

His record clearly is not consistent with a bigot, a racist, or someone who shuns equality in his policies. Quite the opposite.

He did something stupid in the past and especially by today's judgment, but is there no longer such a thing as a measured response--to anything?

bad activities on Trudeau's part but the timing of these revelations is interesting...I don't know about what happened in Virginia but my first thought went to the recent pic of Melanie looking adoringly at Trudeau that was plastered all over the internet and used to make fun of the orange monster...He and his goons found a way to get revenge...yes, he is that petty, think of his hate for Obama stemming from the correspondent's dinner where Obama made a couple of jokes about drumph....

3. Absolutely. This has Elliott Abrams written all over it.

He's a big believer in using a country's own institutions against public figures that don't conform to neocon delusions.

The ratfucking against Trudeau bears similarities to the "notebook" ploys - i.e. the "sudden" appearance of ages-old photos of an embarrassing nature, or faked notebooks outright, for the purpose of character assassination.

He's been allegedly collaborating in these tricks in Argentina and Ecuador, among others.

Of sorts? I mean, trudeau wasn't insulting Arabs, was he? Americans in blackface usually are treating slavery as a laughing matter instead of the tragedy it was. Maybe I'm dense, but I don't see that trudeau was trivializing Arabs. If an actor were portraying Othello, he'd wear blackface. He wouldn't be trivializing all moors or every muslim. He'd be in costume, acting as Othello. I think trudeau was in costume as Aladdin.
