In the face of iranian aggression all indications are that Iran is responsible for Saudi attacks. UAE and Saudi requested help. US will put up defensive military support in those two countries including troops. CNN now.

I though Bush pulled US troops out of Saudi Arabia after 9/11 and into Qatar to diffuse islamist anger at infidel troops in the country that is the site of Mecca.
