(2,260 posts)When? WE are looking like feckless wimps to a ever bigger portion of the moderate/undecided population by doing nothing. It's getting harder and harder to defend our inaction to my brother and sister who are both supporters of the chump in chief. "If he were guilty they would impeach" is almost a verbatim quote from them both. Inaction is starting to look like fear on our side and just "politics" to the other side.

(24 posts)We can stick our heads in the sand with NP hoping playing political tiddly winks instead of doing the right thing. I don't think most of you understand but there's an undercurrent of why vote voters growing. Those aren't republikkkan voters.

(17,881 posts)Well, here ya go. If blatant violation of bribery, extortion and campaign finance law isn't enough, I don't know what is.
And we haven't even gotten to the part where Russia factors into this. When it's about Ukraine, you'll find Putin.

(36,818 posts)In 1998, the GOP initiated impeachment proceedings against Clinton without any offenses which did or would meet any standard of criminality. The best explicit thing they had against him was getting a blowjob.
Just so we are clear, if all Trump had done was get a blowjob, that would be the least of the country's worries. He does far worse shit on a weekly basis.

(1,203 posts)There's a much smaller fine line between representative democracy and anarchy. We have expectations that the duty of representatives is to use their talents to effect change when we individually are not equipped to do so. Be it, they are more articulate, more educated, more connected with influential people, have more resources, etc.
However, when they refuse to act or seem to be ineffective, the base will become restless and decide it can produce more effect with its power. That could be with spontaneous rallies and street marches....and if they become viewed as ineffective, anarchy is within the purview of being the next step.
Our Dem representatives risk instability if they do not clearly act on their stated duties. Impeachment is clearly and urgency required at this point to blunt the corruption and abuse of our country's moral standards. Impeachment does not apply simply to the Presidency but also to all those elected, who deserve to return to their home towns (or 'long term facilities').
Hmm how about the time when he asked -on national TV: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing".
That was not a "looks very much like.." action -it was a CRIME. Yes, what are we waiting for?

(38,414 posts)that he doesn't realize or care that he broke the law. The bottom line is this:
...Donald Trump has broken the law before and gotten away with it....He hasn't a clue that this time is really one time too many, and these laws that he broke will bring him down. (one way or another)
